From Spreadsheet Connection to SPC-INTRANET
SPC-INTRANET has been offering innovative open-end web systems since 2003. Founded by James Cunningham and Victor Ocasio, SPC-INTRANET was first launched as Spreadsheet Connection. The original website concept that would allow users to share spreadsheets online was spearheaded by James Cunningham. The first Spreadsheet Connection website was designed in PHP and MySQL. Over the years, James had found Linux to be a good operating system for businesses and was very comfortable incorporating it with SPC-INTRANET.
In 2008, James suggested his idea to Victor. He had the vision to install Spreadsheet Connection on on-site servers for organizations to utilize these services as a knowledge base. Victor liked the idea, so they set out to show businesses how to utilize Linux. The original Spreadsheet Connection software has recently been updated and improved with features such as user portal page, spcwiki (our favorite), online chat and much more.
When Spreadsheet Connection morphed into SPC-INTRANET, we began offering additional services to our clients with complete installation and set-up for other great open source software including Drupal websites, MediaWiki collaboration software, and free open source CRM software.
Today’s businesses have such an abundance of used server systems. We can convert an old system into a great web-server for businesses looking to share knowledge and ideas with employees and colleagues.
For example, we have a client with a Drupal website. Our SPC-Intranet site is on a used Dell Server (Ubuntu Server Edition) that sits beside a newer Dell server with Microsoft Windows Server 2003. The possibilities are endless and our services continue to grow with your needs.
